" Hi! This is Roy Stringfellow with expertvillage.com. What we’re going to do now with our coil pot to make sure that the coils really can stick to each other, even though we’ve put slip on it and everything else trying to press them together. What we are going to do is take one of the tools that I mentioned, kind of a little thumb wedge here. We’re going to go into the pot and press these coils together. We’re going to start where we already have the coils at the bottom and more or less just draw the clay down in this fashion. I’m going to tip it this way because it’s a little easier to work with. Just kind of work yourself along the lines of the intersection where the two pieces of clay are overlaying each other. Work yourself in the same direction, I do anyway the same direction that I’ve laid the clay in. That way it keeps it sort of some semblance of logic to it, if that’s what you want to think about. It ends up looking something like this. Then what you do is take your tool and smooth the inside of this out just a little bit. Now, one of the reasons that we said we need water. We’re going to dip this tool into the water and smooth the inside of this pot, what’s going to be a pot, pretty much like this. So when we’re finished with that part of it, this is what we have. "
