"This is Shelly Cordsen, I'm here with Expert Village.Working on our personality placemats. In this segment im gonna show you how to do a flip and sew method which your also quilting as you go so your covering two steps in one. So I've taken some strips that I have chosen to put on the back of my work and I'm gonna lay my first peice in the center and im gonna pin it down through all layers which is my batting ,my embroidery piece and I wanna tack this down to keep it all together and then I'm gonna go ahead and pin down my corners. Now the layout that I'm going to use from what i have left ithis will go on next and then this will go over here and then this will go on here. So this will be my, this is my preliminary layout, so to start with we need to work from the middle to one side and then we come back and do this side. So I'm gonna lay right sides together and in my case they are both right sides, you are gonna line up your edge , your right edge here and I just put a few pins just to kinda make sure I got it there and, now I'm gonna sew a quarter inch down from here to here and it's are gonna go through all layer which is gonna start to quilting our piece.
