How to Embellish Pockets in Sewing

"Hi I'm Shelly Cordsen with Expert Village and now we are to the point of gluing our pockets on and embellishing it. So first of all we want to start gluing our pockets on. I have chosen just to use two pockets and we got to put our glue all the way around the edge and if you notice I am pretty liberal with my glue because if you start putting some heavy stuff in there. The other thing is just glue the sides and the bottom, I don't want to glue the top closed. Position that were you want it and then just let that sit for a while and then you just start embellishing it and that?s the fun part. My granddaughters had a lot of fun, as you can see over here, putting appliqu?s which you can buy at Wal-Mart. Oh there's probably fifty or sixty appliqu?s in this package. I got them for like $5.95 and they had fun picking out what they wanted from all their different packs. Another option is iron-ons. These are iron-ons that my other granddaughter used, it made it a little bit simpler. We have appliqu?s, some buttons, just different things she wanted to do. Me, I?ve chosen to be more on the lazy side so I am gluing lace on my pocket, just the top of it. This is what's fun is that you can go really fun, funky, make it masculine, you can coordinate with the colors of your bedroom. Hang it next to your desk. And like I said, I even took, which these were my husband?s jeans, I hope he doesn't see this video. He?ll think I stole his jeans and I?m just going to glue that on there. I have things that I have crocheted that I?ve hung onto that I didn?t do anything with. I can glue that on there. This glue is kind of like glue guns. It makes strings and then I just glued a button on top of that. And there we go. Just continue to embellish and have fun."
