"Hi, I’m Shelly Cordsen with expertvillage.com and we’re continuing our quest on completing a 6x6 scrapbook. In this segment we are going to make a map. It looks a little complicated but when I break down for you you’ll see how easy it is, but this map just keeps us in line with the accent pages we’re going to make. The first thing we’re going to do is we’ve got to divide this 12x12 inch of quarters, which is your 6x6 and we’re going to create a map like this. First of all we’re going to make half of 12 is 6, so my ruler happens to be 6 inches so we’re just going to line that up on the edge here and we’re going to divide this 12x12 in quarters. We’re going to need four sections, so you’re actually looking at it like you got 4 pages, this will 1, 2, 3, 4, I don’t write upside down very well. Number one is just a 6x6 page, we’re going to jump over to number two and we’re going to just divide that quadrant in half, half of 6 is 3 so I’m lining my paper up on my 3 inch line right here and just drawing that in half. So there’s two sections here, now we’re going to drop down to three, we need 2 strips that are 1 ½. So I find my 1 ½, put it on this pencil line and draw that line and then I’m going to come down and do it again, put my pencil mark on the 1 ½. What I’ve got left here is a 3x6, why don’t we divide that in half, half of 6 is 3, so I’ve got my 3 here and divide that in half. My pencil is not working, do it again, so now I have one 3x3 but then we’re going to take this 3x3 and mark it in a diagonal. Okay so now we’ve taken care of 1, 2, 3, we’re going to go to 4. First thing we need to do is do a half inch off the side here, so I’m going to put it on my half inch mark and draw, we’re going to come half inch off the bottom, right there. This is actually, I’m going to put an X, we’re not going to use that part, so what we’re left with is a 5 ½ x 5 ½. We want to cut a frame out, so to do that I need one inch all the way around, so I’m putting one inch on my mark here and very lightly there, one inch this way, love this ruler because you can see right through to line things up, you don’t have to do all the little tick marks and line things up, just find it right there. So in here we now have 3x3 and a one inch board frame and then we’ll be using this strip here, that’s ½ an inch, so basically there’s your map."
