"Hi. My name is Shotsie Gorman. I'm here as a tattoo artist, a professional tattoo artist, for expert village. Well while this is not a tattoo, it was a pretty exciting event and I was contacted by an art director who was working for Seagram's distribution at the time. Absolut vodka is distributed in the United States by Seagram's distribution and they had an idea to try to do something related to tattooing, so I pitched them on the idea of this concept, which was already actually in the works. I made many drawings, illustrations, had meetings with art directors, and we finally settled on doing a negative bottle out of a full body suit tattoo. I worked together with a company called Temp Too out of New York. Temp Too is actually the number one theatrical tattoo company. Primarily, when you see feature films where actors and actresses have tattoos, it comes through this company. They perfected a technique in which they could create a tattoo image, which looks very real under the lights, and the cameras and it can be removed but only with mineral oil or alcohol. So you can wash with it. You can shower. You can swim. It would last the entire length of the shoot. Probably weeks on end before it needed to be touched up or replaced. So it took twelve and a half hours actually to apply the paint to the figure. Temp too. I did a full-scale drawing and Temp Too did the outlines. We did a transfer of the outlines on to the model and then I hand painted each area in. Then we dust it down with a little talcum powder and the photographer did the shots. Steve Bronstein, who's their contracted photographer for the Absolut strain and that was a pretty exciting experience."
