"Hi, my name is Shotsie Gorman. I am here as a tattoo artist. A professional tattoo artist for Expert Village. There are many ways to mix colors in tattooing. Very similar to painting, some artists prefer to have their colors already laid out on the palate. With tattooing you can either mix in the palate in the cups and pre mix your color to whatever desired tone or value that you want or you can mix in the skin by not filling the areas so solidly with color. Creating a transparency like we have here and an overlapping color into that. So pigments can be mixed by layering one over the other. Or be mixed by pre mixing an established color. Placing it and then placing the color next to it. Each one having its own character depending on whether you are doing a sharply defined geometric or modern pattern. So this is a landscape so I really want a sense of things being a lot softer and easier transitions. So we are going to be mixing directly on the skin by overlapping creating spaces for colors to fall into one another. "
