"My name is Shotsie Gorman. I'm here as a tattoo artist, a professional tattoo artist for Expert Village. At this stage in a tattoo, we've established the exterior line, and most of the defining lines in the interior of the image. Our next move is to go in and start putting in black and gray shading, which will create our value system. That's done with a configuration of needles which are nine. There are nine, zero twelve needles, and they're in a configuration with five on the bottom and four on the top, like that. This machine runs at a much slower speed, and it's a different setting for spring tension, so that it works very similar visually to a paint brush. That feels different. Mmhmm. That feels pretty nice though, it's not unbearable. It's not as intense as the outline."

on 10/28/2008 i'm thinking seriously of getting a tattoo. as far as pain, i heard that it's kind of like a vibration that numbs the area of the tattoo, so i'm not very iffy on the shading and coloring part. it's just the outline part that has me scared cuz if i see a needle with intentions of being in me i feel like im on a roller coaster and i hate it, mostly cuz of the pain. can i take ibuprofin or tylonel or some sort of pain killer beforehand--is it advisable?
