Series Summary

Children are constantly looking for things to stimulate their minds and bodies. They use their senses to explore the world, and crafts are an excellent way to help them create something while developing their senses of touch and sight. Bright colors stimulate the creative half of their brains, while different sizes and shapes of smaller crafts stimulate their sense of touch. This is an excellent form of self-expression as well. A child is able to convey through art what he or she might not be able to verbally. Why not make a place for them to be creative and more independent?

In this free video series, expert Rachel Dayan shows you just how to make accessories and decorations for a children's work or art desk. Rachel teaches you how to make a note board and decorate it with flowers, corrugated paper, and hot glue. You will also learn to make a pencil holder from paper-towel rolls and basic art supplies. There are even videos on creating your own paper tote bag to carry supplies or help with make-believe. Rachel has great ideas you can use today!

"Hi, I'm Rachel for Expert Village today I'm going to show you how to make different crafts with your kids. I'm going to show you how to make little bulletin boards, pen and pencil paper holders, little bag for a girl, a clock. Everything is made up from corrugated paper you can see I made it, it's easy when you can use the same material for different stuff. You can see that I used in each one the same color corrugated paper I use the little rubber squares to decorate. The flowers that you see here are from poster board that I just cut and it is a great craft. First of all it is nice to decorate a kids (a little girls rooms) with the same little crafts. Second of all it is nice of an hour or a few hours for a kid during a vacation to do arts and crafts like that. As you can see it is not hard it's a fun thing to do."
