"This is Randall Powell for Expert Village and in this clip I am going to tell you about the sequence of events that go on while you are team roping. To start your roping if you and your team member are going to ride into the box, if you are the header, the header rides in first and then the heeler. You back your horses up into the box and then they push the cattle into the roping shoot there and then the header will nod and call for the steer. Whenever the header is ready, he has his horse right, his rope ready, just nod your head and they will turn the cow out. You have to pause for a moment to let the cow have a fair start out. You've got to give him a head start and then the header will run out and run for the hip of the cow and his horses shoulder with the hip of the cow. He is going to rope his horns and dally his rope onto his horn and he will move his horse to the left and turn the steer and the heeler comes in with his horse in behind the steer and ropes the back feet. Once this takes place, the heeler pulls his slack tight and dallies on to his saddle horn and then the header's horse will be going this way with the heeler's horse behind him and the cattle in between. Once the cow is roped, the header has to face his horse towards the heel horse and when the ropes become tight, at that point the flagman will drop the flag and your time stops. After that, you take the steer out the back of the pen of the stripping shoot and that is the sequence of events that happens when you are roping. "
