"Okay, now we're going to prepare the pattern for our wallet. You'll notice this is kind of a style it will be, only I mass produced mine, and the style I make them I have to put bias tape on the outside, that won't be required for how we're making them today. This kind of gives you an idea what style it's going to be. It's a tri-fold so it comes up; not tri-fold as in, you could put pictures in it and stuff, but that's how we're going to fold it. It'll fold over once, and then come back over for the top. So I've actually notice that if you take a piece a paper straight from your printer and fold it over like so, and then fold it down again to be your closing part, that is about the size you would want, the length you would want to cut your piece. Now that's kind of wide, so what I want to do is decide; you always want to allow it to be larger than what you're going to make, because you do have to allow for the seams. You can do them whatever size you like. The longer size works for your longer stuff, shorter size works great for change for the tolls, that's what we keep in our van. Just kind of decide about how wide you want it, and then you just cut off the excess. And I like to cut it while it's folded, because for me it's easier to see. You can use a ruler to make more of a straight line if you want. I like to eyeball stuff, I don't like rulers, don't like numbers, so this is how I do it. And that will be your pattern."
