"Hi, I am Nipa Banerjee from Art Space India talking on behalf of Expert Village. In this clipping, I want to show and discuss about the turning and trimming process. It means, shaving and trimming the unwanted clay from the base of the flower vase. First, spin the wheel and keep the flower vase on the wheel. When the clay is leather hard, then only you can do the trimming. This process finishes the shape and gives a rim at the back portion of the flower vase. You have to trim the base nicely and make a ring on the reverse side of the flower vase. Groove the clay from the inside portion of the ring. See, this is the rim. This rim is very much necessary because it helps to keep the piece separate from the furnace plate. Even you can use a wet sponge to smooth the rim. So, turning process is over. You have to keep aside the item for drying. Thank you. "
