"On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Neal Jones with A Perfect Fit Alterations and we’re located at 102 Main Street, Burleson, Texas and our phone is 817-447-3522. In continuing with our threading, we were able to get down to the needle with the last clip that we did, so continuing from there the needle is now threaded and we can now pull the thread. Now certain types of feet require that we go to different places, this particular foot the feet are changed very easily by pushing a button behind the machine which we saw as we went around the back of the machine. Now there are various other feet and they are specialty feet for doing different jobs, some of them are for feeding ribbon through the machine, others are for folding certain types of seams and folding the fabric through the machine but this foot that we’re using right here is actually as close as we get to a universal foot and it is foot A and we would find that whether we would need to use this by going again to the lid and we would see one of the feed here, we will see one of the stitches that it would require and it would tell us there that we need to use foot A. Now the main reason that we need to make sure that we use the right foot, is that if the stitch that we’re selecting has a very wide movement the slot that’s in this foot has to be wide enough for the needle to travel through it. If the slot were too narrow, the needle would strike it and would break the needle, so that is why it’s very important to use the right foot for the right pattern of stitch that we were using but this particular foot, this one works fine for straight sewing and for zigzag sewing. Now to finish off the threading after we’ve selected the foot, if you can recall, we talked about the hand turner the hand turning mechanism that we have on the end of the machine before the motor is even engaged and the thread from the bobbin area is now poking here. In order to get that thread through the right place which is small hole in the bottom there, we have to use the hand wheel, we go down and we allow the thread to travel around the bobbin casing and then the thread pulls and then it pulls it through that small hole and that completes the threading process right there. We’re now ready to do some sewing. "
