"On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Neal Jones and I’m with A Perfect Fit Alterations, 102 Main Street, Burleson, Texas, area code 517-447-3522 is our phone number. Now as we continue around the sewing machine, we now come to the end of the machine. This end of the machine has a lot of interesting mechanism to do with it, here just about half way down at the bottom is another thread cutter and this has a little blade and a little knife inside and if you bring some thread over it will cut it and save you having to go get the scissors. Now there are two other mechanisms that are built into this machine, one is part of the button hole foot, this has a button hole attachment that goes with the machine and this lever that I just pulled down which is on this end, would be a signal lever that when the button was in the right position it would kick the machine to go into the other direction. The other mechanism that is here for people that are not able to see very clearly is a needle threader and this part of the mechanism is able to be pulled down, pulled across behind the needle, the thread would then be able to put on the front of it, you will then let go of it and it would pick up the thread, pull it through the hole in the needle and then you would be able to continue. Now on some machines we have an opening door here and this one we actually do and inside here, we have the light that lights the sewing area, it also enables us to thread the machine a little bit easier with this door open. Now this is a typical machine, there are some that do not have this door opening but in this particular case we do, so while we have it we might as well have a look inside there. Here are the two levers that I just explained to you and you can see they’re stored in this particular area, the light bulb here, this is where we would get to the light bulb to service it, we wouldn’t run the machine with this door open but we may open this door to help us thread the machine, not absolutely necessary but just a little bit easier to do it that way.
