"Hi! My name is Nick. I'm a professional body piercer over at Studio City Tattoo in Studio City, California. On behalf of Expert Village, we're going to talk about how to prevent and infection and what to do if you actually get an infection. It's pretty difficult to actually get an infection. As long as you follow your general body piercing aftercare given to you by your body piercer, it's pretty difficult to actually get one. You do want to be cleaning 2-3 times a day. Mainly, you want to make sure that you're not really touching your piercing, moving it around, or letting your friends touch it. That's the best way to avoid an infection. If you do get an infection, there are easy ways to help heal it. First thing is that you do not want to remove your jewelry. Removing the jewelry prevents you from treating your infection topically. What you want to do is up your sea salt soaks to 3-4 times a day with really, really warm water and doing it for about 5-10 minutes each time. That's how you will extract your infection."
