"Hi! My name is Nick. I'm a professional body piercer over at Studio City Tattoo in Studio City, California. On behalf of Expert Village, we're going to go over how to clean and maintain your body piercing. In my opinion, the best way to take care of your piercing is doing what's called non iodine sea salt soaks. All you do is you simply mix non-iodine sea salt with purified or distilled water in certain increments. Once you do that, you'll have a big premix and then you will simply fill up a small cup with the solution. You're going to cup the piercing with the solution, lean back, and let the water soak on your piercing about 3-5 minutes. If you can't directly put pressure on it like that, you can use a small cup and simply dip the piercing in the solution and let it soak. If this won't work, you can simply grab a clean paper towel and saturate it with the solution, just place it on the piercing, and let it soak. Another way to clean your piercing is using an antimicrobial soap and making sure that you're cleaning around the piercing, but you do not need to work the soap into the piercing. Simply cleaning around. This is simply typically done in the shower. This is how to clean your new body piercing."
