"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Pat Louis here is Miami, Florida I'm going to teach you today how to put together an act. Of course using humor in any act is helpful in trying to get the audience and keeping them in tune with what you are doing. If you're doing songs, then you're a singer primarily, you don't want to do 15 songs in a row. If you're doing comedy you are already got the humor built in. But the best thing to do for a singer I think is to lead into some of the songs and using a little humor. For instance, I met Robert Gulay at a birthday party and my band was working for his birthday and I got up and I kind of introduce myself, I did a song of his, I did an impression of his. What I did I said "generally this man has been all over, started in Broadway" and so forth and when I do a song for the audience, general audience. I say here's a fantastic gentleman he was always a little stiff so instead of Robert Gulay I always use to call him Mr. Robot Gulay. It was just kind of a very easy joke to kind of to lead into the song and of course we have a wonderful song, "If I Would Ever Leave You" which is always a crowd pleaser."
