"Hello! This is Peggy Charlton for Expert Village talking about how to write an essay. Our second one would be a quotation. Of course, if you're writing about volunteerism, here's the standard quote for that, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." John Kennedy said, 40th president of the United States. That's my example, a catchy quote. If you say according to John Doe and some stupid quote, no that's not what I mean. The more important the person is the more creditability it gives in your quotation. Another one a startling statement. I'm talking about 92% of elderly citizens in nursing homes have received at least 3 times of neglect and abuse while they are there. As I said, I just made that up so please don't quote me on that. That is an example of a startling statement; very catchy, very effective."
