"When jewelry making, you'll find that you will create your own philosophies about making jewelry. When you go to buy beads, you'll pick out the beads that call to you, that attract you, attract your eye. You may have project in mind, but I usually just pick beads that call to me whether I have a project in mind or not. What you'll find is you'll have a whole lot more beads that you anticipated. As time passes, projects will come up and you'll find uses for every bead. This is part of why jewelry making is not only an art form; it actually takes on a life of its own. For an example, this necklace here started out as a gift for my mom. As I started to work the beads together and the beads chose where they wanted to go, it became a gift for my roommate. It is more a gift for her than it is for my mom, and it actually took on a life form of its own to make a great gift for my roommate. I made a separate necklace for my mom. Keep this in mind with your jewelry making. Let the jewelry make you as you're making jewelry."
