How to Place Stencil When Screen Printing T-Shirts

"Hi, this is Mark Kneeskern, on behalf of Expert Village. And in this clip I'm going to show you how to mount your design onto your screen for screen printing. Once you have your design cut out, you'll want to make sure that your newsprint is pretty close to the size of the screen that you are using. If you have to tape on extra pieces of newsprint, you can do that with scotch tape. And then place your design carefully onto the back of the screen. Keeping in mind of the direction that you want your print to go in, such as lettering. You want it to be right side up, facing the back of the screen. Just take your design and place it on there, and use scotch tape, it usually works the best for me. You could use masking tape if you want to. But go ahead and tape it at the four corners, an maybe a couple of places in between. You'll need to, if you have lettering that has floating parts, such as a capital R, has the little floaty part in the middle, you'll need to place that on there using saliva, or something that has a little stick to it. And just stick it right onto the screen, that way you can the letters and still have the little floaty parts in there. And that's how you place a design on a screen for screen printing. "
