"Hi, this is Mark Kneeskern, on behalf of Expert Village. And today in this clip, I'm going to talk about design and lettering for screen printing. When you're screen printing you need to create a design which is fairly bold. And if you do lettering with this design, you need to make sure that its thick enough that it won't disappear when you run the ink through it. Just look around you at signs in your environment, and you'll see that they have nice thick lettering. And you'll want to be able to visually see them right away when you glance at them. So you'll want to start off by doing a lot of sketches, and writing a lot of words down. Just brainstorm, you can do it with your friends if you want to. You get more ideas that way. And just keep writing until you've got your inspiration. And start sketching really quickly at first, and then honing it down until you have a really solid design. And then you'll want to make sure that you remember that these are going to be cut out pieces. They're going to kind of going to need to float around a little bit. And that is how you create a design for screen printing."
