A couple of other handy tools that are going to work out for you is a trimming knife. This one will let you do a number of things from big cuts to little cuts. That's a good beginner tool. Got a nice handle on it and not too expensive. Your wooden knife for trimming on the wheel allows you to do a number of designs and different things and cutting excess clay off also for hand bills and stuff come in real handy. The other cutting tool that works out really well is your needle tool that the probe to be able to cut excess off, trim your tops and also for cutting slabs for hand bills and those kinds of things. For smoothing out the different shapes on your pot, a nice flexible metal rib comes in real handy because as you bend it and twist it around you can get it to fit into different contours on your pot in different shapes that you might have thrown. You will need a sponge for cleaning and wiping down things and just a butter tub, some plastic bucket to hold your water for slipping and scoring for hand bills and for keeping your pot lubricated on the wheel."
