"For Expert Village.com this is Matt Freedman, owner of Blue Creek Candle Company. In this clip we’ll be talking about setting up your personal workspace. To find out more about my candles please visit my web site. Okay, so let’s talk a little bit about setting up your workspace. Now, the first thing that I usually do is grab a roll of wax paper. Now for demonstration purposes I’ve already gone ahead and laid wax paper over this entire surface that we’ll be using here today and a little bit over on the back counter over there. Essentially what I always do is lay wax paper down, anywhere that I’m going to be working. As I memtioned earlier, that’s going to make sure that you don’t spill any dye directly onto your countertop or any scent or any wax. Get everything covered in wax paper first and from there what I usually tend to do is bring out all the tools and materials that I’m going to be using. I go ahead and I get those all set up, everything in a nice spot, thats easily accessible so that I’m not running around table to table or countertop to countertop. Today’s a little bit different; in the demonstration purposes I’ve got everything confined to one area. But as you can see I’ve got a scale, I’ve got my measuring cup, and I’ve got all the tools that I’ll need, I’ve got my all dyes, all my scents and today we’ll be pouring the candle into a glass container. So I’ve got everything out that I’ll need, I’ve got my table covered by wax paper and then the last thing that I usually like to do is take a little bit of aluminum foil, and I’m going to go ahead and cover up the burner that we’re going to be using. This is another safety precaution that you can, that you can do. As I mentioned earlier in one of the segments this will help if any wax drips off of your, out of your pouring container after you’ve poured it, and you’ve set it back down you want to make sure that your burner is, is covered so that no wax will go in there and accidentally catch on fire. The other thing that putting wax paper, or the other thing that putting tin foil on top of your burner will do is allow for a more controlled and evenly heated melting pot. Once you’ve got that all set, its time to actually go ahead and make your candle. "
