"For Expertvillage.com, this is Matt Freedman owner of The Blue Creek Candle Company. In this clip we’ll be talking about safety tips for burning your candles. To find out more about my candles please visit my website. First of all make sure that you move all the packaging and labeling from your candle before you burn it. You’re going to want to trim your wick down to a quarter of an inch and make sure that your candles in a suitable container or on a candle burning base. Try not to burn your candles for more than four hours at a time and never leave them unattended. So things that are new to the market that people like to use are candle warmers, what that allows you to do is place your candle that’s in a container such as this right onto the warmer, the warmer plugs into the wall and it will heat your candle up and melt the wax and release this scent. Therefore you never have to even light the candle at all. So again make sure that you’re never burning your candles unattended, keep your candles away from flammable materials, any loose hanging clothing, drapes or table cloths and always place your candles in a safe place well out of the reach of children or pets. "
