"Hi. I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today we're going to learn how to make a paper star lantern. In this next step, we're going to paint our star points. So you're going to take a brush that's not too thin because you do want to cover a pretty big surface area, and you're going to take some lightly colored paint. I have here a very nice kind of mustardy yellow, and you're going to take your water and you're going to water down the color a little bit. What you want to do is you want to grab just enough color so that it shows through, but you don't want to grab too much paint. You don't want to grab so much color and paint and water that it's going to weigh down the star. You're going to paint each point and you're going to go over the holes and you're going to do a light wash just like I'm doing. A very light wash. We're going to apply a light coating of glitter to the outside of our star. We're going to pour out a small amount of glitter and you're going to take your glue stick and you're going to go across it lightly. You don't have to go crazy. Just a little bit of glue. Then you're going to take your glitter and you're going to sprinkle it on wherever you glued. So you're going to take a Sharpie marker, and once your star has completely dried, you're going to go ahead and do any designs you want on your star points. And I like to do just a few swirls all around. You don't want to press down too hard because you don't want to flatten your star. Once you're done drawing all of your designs, your star is almost done."
