"Hi. I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today we're going to learn how to make a paper star lantern. In this next step, we're going to draw the outline and the fold lines of our star points. So, we're going to open this up and we're going to have two fold lines. So you're going to take your ruler, and on this outer fold line, you're going to draw one, long, straight, smooth line starting from the top point right here. Then, you're going to take your center line and you're going to match it up with the point and you're going to draw a dotted line. Dotted lines indicate where you're going to fold. Then, you're going to open your paper up, and you're going to draw dotted lines again right here and you're going to draw an outer line, a solid line right here. We're going to draw the bottom points of our star. So you're going to fold your paper back in half and you're going to take your ruler and you're going pick out a point on your dotted line and you're going to measure it to the end of the solid line and you're going to take note of how long it is. You're going to draw from this point to your solid line and you're going to keep note of the length. So, mine is two and a half inches. So, what I'm going to do, and you're going to press down as hard as you can. Our goal is, we're going to try to make the same thing on the other side of the paper and if you can see through, you just made your life a lot easier. So you're going to try to press down as hard as you can and then you're going to go to this point and you're going to measure two and a half inches so that it's the exact same length and you're going to measure from this point to the center dotted line. And you're going to do the same thing; you're going to try to press down as hard as you can. Once you've done this on one side, you're going to flip it over and if you've pressed down hard enough, you'll have your lines already there. All you have to do is mark off your point and measure. And then you're going to go ahead and open the paper back up."
