"Hi. I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today we're going to learn how to make a paper star lantern. For the first step of this project, you're going to take your paper, wax side up, and you're going to fold it in half with the wax side facing up. This line across here is going to be the height of your start points. There's really no specific rule as far as to how high, or how small, or how wide you want to make it. It's really up to you. But keep in mind that this line right here is going to be the center line of our star point. So from here you can kind of figure out how tall or how short you want to make your star. We're going to take one end of our folded paper and you're going to fold inwards, like this. And again, it doesn't matter how tall or how short you make it. This is going to be our star point. If you want a really wide, chubby star, instead of folding in right here, you can fold in out here. It really doesn't matter. There's no rules. You can do it any way you want. And when you do this fold, you want to go ahead and take the end of your scissor and press down on the fold. Take our folded piece, and we're going to fold one more time and you're going to use the end of this other fold as your quide and you're going to fold right into that. And this is really an easier way of doing this project. You could just measure everything out, but, there's no reason to unless you want a very specific height. You can just fold along. And you're going to take your scissors, just like you did with the other fold. And you're going to go up and down a few times just to make sure that fold really gets in there."
