"Hi. I'm Michelle and I'm here today on behalf of Expert Village. We're gonna learn how to knit a scarf for beginners and while we're doing that we'll also go over some basic tips that you need to know to get started in knitting. Because yarn can be made from such a great variety of things there are a great variety of ways that is appropriate to wash your scarf. That will be indicated on the label of whatever yarn you've chosen. Let's look at the label for my purple yarn. I must wash my scarf in hot water. I may dry clean it in any solution. I may not use bleach on it and I must not iron it. That wont be hard for me. Some yarns will indicate how they should be dried. If not I usually just line dry them. But they may tell you that you should lay it flat to dry. Also, some yarns you need to be extra careful with. For example, anything that's 100% wool if not washed explicitly according to instructions? It will felt and while may still look good it wont be the project you set out to make. So, now you know everything you need to knit and care for a beautiful scarf. So, stay warm out there, and happy knitting."
