"Hi I'm Michelle and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. We are going to learn how to knit a scarf for beginners and while we are doing that we also go over some basic tips that you need to know to get started on knitting. We have our first row passed on so we are actually ready to start making our scarf. When we are knitting there is only two stitches that we are ever going to use. The knit stitch and the pearl stitch. Using those two stitches in different combinations we would yield all sorts of different patterns that we can create in our work. We would also be able to make pretty much any object that you can imagine. So to get started let's learn specially how to do the knit stitch. To start in this stitch we are going to do exactly the same thing as we did as we cast on. We would take the needle in our right hand and slide it from front to back on to the front stitch on the needle in our left hand. We are then going to take the yarn and wrap it around from left to right. Use that needle to pull it through. Now instead of wrapping the stitch up and around like we did when we cast on we are just going to slide that other stitch right off on our left hand needle. You don't have to be scared about losing stitches cause you would see that we just created a stitch on our right hand needle. So we would go forward to back, we would go around, left to right. Using that needle to pull it through we would slide that right off. This is your basic knit stitch. Front to back, left to right, and pull it right on off. For every stitch we take off the left hand needle we are creating a new stitch on the right hand needle until we completed a entire row."
