"Hi, I'm Michelle and I am here today on behalf of Expert Village. We're going to learn how to knit a scarf for beginners and while we are doing that we'll also go over some basic tips that you need to know to get started in knitting. Now that we have all of your equipment picked out and your knitting bag ready to go, we're going to need some yarn. So we have lots of different options. We'll start with this one, this is a very soft 100% wool that is fun to work with but be warned, it will felt. This is another 100% wool, it's actually a tweed yarn, it's not quiet a soft as the first one we looked at. But I love to make socks out of it because it's very warm. This yarn here is 100% cotton and it's specifically designed to be used in water. I love making wash clothes out of it. This one is a fun one to make socks out of. These variations in the yarn, if knitted in precisely according to the pattern will actually yield stripes. It's called self striping yarn, it is really cool. This yarn is very egated, it is not going to actually give you stripes, it'll just give you kind of a fun funky pattern. And if you like fun funky, you're going to want to try some of the fun fur. The fun fur I love to make scarves out of. It works very well either used with another yarn or just by itself and you can see it's just wild and crazy and fun. The most important thing to remember when you are picking out yarn for your project is that you want all of the yarn to come from the same dialogue. If not you may find tiny variations in the color and that may make you less than pleased with the final outcome. We don't want that to happen after all your hard work."
