"Hi, I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make a beautiful necklace out of polymer clay. For this next step we are going to measure our wire. You are going to take some wire and there is various thickness of wire. I like to use this one 146 millimeters. It is not too thick that you can not string beads through it but it is thick enough so that it is sturdy and it would hold up something heavy. All though the nice thing about polymer clay, is that it is very light. So we are going to go ahead and pull some wire out and if you are making it for you, it is very easy. You just wrap the wire around your neck. Measure out where you want it and I think it would look nice hanging right here. So I'm going to calculate 2 inches extra on each side for my closure. Then I'm going to cut. The next thing we want to do is simply take our wire, hold it up, find the center point and just make a small tiny dot. A little bit of black to know when you are getting to the center of the necklace."
