"Hello I'm weather announcer Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village today we're going to be talking about the weather. In this clip we're going to talk about reading radar and satellite images these are probably the 2 most important images to be able to read the radar of course, predicts what it predicts precipitation and you usually see it in green on many of the maps the satellite images predict cloud cover and that's usually in white of course of the color that's most represented on maps white clouds. Now I'm not sure if you know what radar actually stands for radar stands maybe you do or don't know this but it's stands for radio detection and ranging so doppler radar as I mentioned it predicts the precipitation and very important and that's what a lot of your audience and a lot of people want to know. How much is going to rain, when is it going to rain, and the satellite imagery shows the cloud cover but it shows the direction on the cloud. It can also show the winds speeds and where on the satellite imagery the cloud cover and the wind is coming from and the direction that's it going to follow. So again radar and satellite imagery very important to probably the most important model that you see on television and that you would want to do your research on. "
