"Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to learn how to make paper snowflakes. In this clip, let's start off with the first 3 folds in order to make your paper snowflakes. First off, we need to get a square. Let's say we're using our 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper right here. We're going to fold that piece of paper until this point here touches the edge of the paper. Then we're going to take our scissors and we're going to cut this part off here. Then what we're going to do, as you can see, if we follow down to number 2 here, we're left with this triangle. The top part of the triangle, we'll call that A. The bottom right hand corner, B, and the bottom left hand corner, C. What you want to do is to take A, as we have over here, and then fold that into B, like so. We'll fold that in half like that. Now we have a little triangle. We've got that right here. Basically, what we did if we look at this diagram here. A folded into B, so A equals B here. We have a new point up here, which is D, and we still have C in the corner. In our next clip, we'll learn the next basic fold in order to make those paper snowflakes."
