String art is typically referred to as the art of tangling string around a set of strategically placed pins to create a design with geometric patterns. The design typically looks curved but in fact is a series of straight lines that create a curved effect from the slightly different angles of each line. String art had it's hay day in the 70's when a cultural explosion of art of any kind was occurring. Today it is making a come back with many new aspects and ideas never before explored.
