"Hi, this is Jon, and in this clip we will be laying out our project. To lay out our project, I'm first going to cut out the design that I drew. This is going to give me a template that I am going to trace onto my piece of stock. Once we've got our piece of stock we can go ahead and set that template on our piece of stock, and I've placed the back edge of my template along the back edge of my piece of stock. This is really going to help me keep it square and straight, and I'm not going to have to make this cut later, so it will actually save me a little bit of time. Next we're just going to trace our design template onto our piece of stock, and we're going to do this to prepare it for cutting out. Now that I've traced my design into one corner, I'm going to flip over my template and trace it onto the opposite corner. And once I'm finished with that, I have two identical pieces that are ready to be cut out. "
