"Hi, this is Katie Roney on behalf of Expert Village. We're going to discuss how to conduct an interview. One of the crucial points in an interview is to allow a candidate a time to explain his or her career. They have probably prepared for this for quite some time, particularly if they've wanted your job. They know the buzz words, they know the answers, they've been online, they're prepared for interview questions. So what you want to get is a feeling from them. Why did they start their search? What is it about their company that made them want to look around? Or, you know, why did their last position end? What led them to your company? How did they find you? Are they a friend of a co-worker? Are they a relative of your boss, or, you know, did you actually locate them through some type of resources, you know, online or what not? You want to kind of get the feel as to why they're at your company's door step, and why they feel that they're a good fit? You've gone over the resume, you've gone over all of the experience. What you want to hear them say is I'm a good fit with this company because.. I'm going to fit into this culture because.. I'm excited about this company because.. So this is a good time to let them prove to you why they're going to be a good, a good addition to your company. Also an important thing to address is their future, their career, where do they see it going? Where did they, you know, where's their projected career headed, things of that nature, you know. And it may or may not be a good fit with your company depending on where he or she wants to go. "
