"Hi! My name is Ken Orlich on behalf of Expert Village. Okay in this segment we are going to remove a component from a circuit cord. Something I should mention right away here is before we get started, soldering safety. If you are using any kind of soldering iron you really want to wear glasses, some sort of safety glasses. I wear glasses so I usually don't put on safety glasses but solder because of the risen core when it heats up, it kind of pops and it will explode a little bit. So you may want to protect your eyes because I have been soldering and it has kind of popped and it hit my glasses and if I hadn't been wearing my glasses, it would have went right into my eyes, so always wear glasses when you are soldering. Okay a little bit more about solder safety. Obviously we are using heat so don't touch the soldering tip because it is very hot. Because if you are using an electric one, keep it away from water. You don't want to shock yourself. Once again, take a look at your cables before you start. Make sure they are not frayed. As you are soldering sometimes it is kind of gangly so that is why I don't like using wired ones so much as they will get in the way and actually melt the insulation with the soldering iron, beware of that. Do get a soldering iron from someone else and inspect it and make sure it is okay to use. This one seems to be okay. Sometimes the cables can get rough when you plug it in, you use the actual plug, don't pull from the wire or anything like that. So solder is hot, so don't touch it. "
