Assigning Roles & Choosing a Band Manager

"After you have a group of musicians together who decided to form a band it is important to delegate the roles that each of these musicians will take during performances. For example, this is a band I'm in entitled, Planet Earth. I am a flute player, my friend Jesse plays the drum and my friend Ryan plays the base and also the keyboard. We all have our set instruments, this way it is OK for us to know what we're going to be doing. Another band that I performed with is a Hip-Hop group. In this group we have Pete who makes the beats and also MC's, and then our main MC, MC Image, who MC's. I play the flute along with the beats. Often times in bands people also delegate managers. The manager is important for the people in the band so that they can organize everything that is going on and get shows. It is often important to have a manager when your band becomes more successful. This is because artists need time to promote themselves artistically and the managers can promote them in the business aspect."
