"Next, we're going to get our brushes together. You pretty much want to stick to the medium and small brushes. If you watched the previous show on painting leather jackets, we used some big brushes as well, but for the jeans you don't really want a whole lot of paint on the jeans. It gets a little crispy and uncomfortable to wear, so you want to sort of stick to smaller designs and not so much surface coverage. We're going to stick with the small brushes for detail and the medium size brushes for coverage. You want to get fairly hard brushes. You don't really want the softer brushes because the jean material is a little bit tougher to get the paint to stick to. You're really going to be pushing on the brush. If its soft, then it's going to go out in all different directions. You want to get some really nice solid brushes where the hairs are going to stick together, and you're really going to follow the line that you want. You also want to make sure that the brushes, the hairs, are nice and they don't pull out. That's pretty much it. "
