"So I just pulled up the edge, pulled up the bowl, I shaped the bowl. I want to talk a little bit more about these edges I started talking about how I was putting a curve here so that you can get your finger or hand while you are serving underneath. But when I do that it roughens up the edge just a little bit so I'm going to just run my finger along there and that is creating a soft edge. Then I'm going to alter it a little bit again this is to show movement in the pot and it is also to have a place to put your fingers. I'm just going to pull that down just a little and just by doing that it loosens up that rim a little bit more so it is not so stiff looking. Check to see that it is not way off you know that it throws it off at all, it is fine and that allows me when I'm serving I put my thumb right there is just gives it a little bit more of a nice feeling. We have to remember that pottery is not just about the way it looks it is about the way that it feels. When you reach for that favorite mug everyday why do you reach for it. You reach for it cause it feels good and pottery is definitely about feeling not just seeing. "
