"There are many different ways to carve a pot. Some of the carving that you have already saw me do with the knife when I cut into this to make that three footed cup. Another type of carving is just using a simple tool that peels away a thin strip and another kind of carving is using something that makes some bigger lines like you can use a fork or in this case I'm going to choose a lemon zestier. Alright and there are a lot of kitchen tools out there. I'm going to work on this by just starting here and pulling it down. Now the pot picks up the glaze really nicely and I have quiet few pots that I do with this lemon zestier design with. Now we just do this all the way around the pot that is what it would end up looking like. Another carving that I'm going to do is if you can see this little covered container here, this just carved with this tool and I just carved this leaf pattern into it. I'm not going to go into that right now in the actual clay cause this takes a long time to get this whole pot done and I picked one of my smaller ones I make these really large too. These are actually cremation urns I make them very small to very very large that is a couple of different of methods of carvings. There are just so many ways you can carve though you can use you know sea shells imprinted and that is more like stamping, you can use a fork and any kitchen tools that you can think of. "
