"Now I'm going to be making a beak spout on this pot here. A beak spout is a spout that you cut out and it comes a little bit higher than the pot. In order to do this I'm going to have cut into my pot in here and join this piece on. The way I get this piece is just by rolling out a slab of clay and then taking this template I made which really looks like an ice cream cone. I?m going to put it down on here and cut that out. This spout most likely will be a little bit big for my pot, but I'm just going to start it out bigger. I could cut that down pretty easily. That could be a big spout or I could bring it down just a little bit more. I could make a smaller template if I want or I can just pull that down a little bit. Pound that down a little bit. That makes that spout part a little bit smaller. That's actually kind of a neat form. A little bit different than what I've done over here. It's fun and it will work and I pull that out a little bit more later. So that's cutting the spout. The next step, I will join it to this."
