"When I do that I'm going to pull my thumb starting from here down, now if I start from here I'm going to make some dents in there and its not going to look very good. The idea is to make it flow into the mug. Don't worry about some of these lines that are left down here you can just wipe them with your finger. Don't get too fussy with it, just a couple of marks. Now I'm going to look at it and see if it fits well? Should I make it smaller? I'm thinking thats a little wide for this mug so I'm going to make it a little bit smaller. So you can see the difference between this handle and the other handle. The other handle is much thicker at the top, and this is thinner. That's set there, the size that I want it. I'm going to lift it up and put a little slip down there. I'm going to push my thumb right there, pull it over. There are many ways you can do this, but I like to pull it over like this. That's it , I'm just going to raise it up a little bit. Don't fuss with the edges, alot of people keep fussing there, work bottom to top or top to bottom. If your not liking the way it's meeting right in there, just wiggle it and it will meet a little better. When it's more dry you can take a sponge too it, but don't fuss with it at this point. Now you can see the difference between those too. This one is much thicker and has more of a flow to it. This one looks like it's been stuck on and it's thinner on the top. I prefer this one , it just feels better to me. Remember pottery is really important, I should say feeling is more important in pottery."
