"The tools that I'm mainly using is two; I use a loop tool and a straight tool. I also use a little cover just anything from a little jam jar or whatever and I put that cover right down on the center and I put my finger on that cover and that helps to push the pot down. But that distributes it easy, if I took the cover off I would push my finger right through the pot. So I put a little cover on there and I hold my tool with a wide loop cutting off the excess clay. Like that and with a bowl you are typically going to trim off a little bit more than you would do if you where doing these or you know some kind of cylinder form. Just slowly work my way down. Try not to do the whole bowl just a little bit just to give it a nice curve that I started with when I was working on the wheel. So I'm really working lightly right now just very very lightly I want to get to this edge right here. Over here I'm going to tilt my tool a little bit more so I get a little bit more of a curve for the foot. This clay is a little bit wetter than what I like it should stick so much. Do the edge of this which is very very important, soft edges just like the top of the rim just a soft edge. Put my finger on that."
