"We are going to be making bowls today and we are going to start by taking some porcelain clay and you can be working with any kind of clay. I chose to work in porcelain cause I like the way that it feels. The first part of making any piece of pottery is wedging the clay. I'm going to teach you how to wedge right now. You start off with a block of clay but you want the clay to be going through a circular fashion so you want the molecules in the clay to line up and you also want to get the air bubbles out of the clay. Now I'm just pushing not too hard a lot of people push to hard when they do this, I'm pushing lightly and I'm folding the clay back off on itself and now I'm pushing lighter and lighter so it can get into a cone shape. And I will pound it down and it is now ready to go in the potters wheel. "
