Additional Information about Jammed Handguns

"Now assest. Okay, I have live rounds. There's not one jammed in the chamber. I assested it; it's good to go. I'm ready to continue fire. I drop it and now I'm on target and I fired. So, tap, rack bang, or tap, rack, assest, bang is what you want to do to perform a malfunction clearing on this weapon. Again, no live rounds. Physical and visual, no live rounds. Tap, rack, bang. If you have asked for a stovepipe, if you get a misfire or the weapon doesn't feed properly. Sometimes it'll try to feed 2 rounds in at once and you'll get 2 rounds jammed up in there. At a point like that, those sometimes can be difficult to do to the clear, but at that point when that happens if you visually see that, you don't have to bother with the tap. All you want to do is drop that magazine to take the tension. You will never be able to get those 2 rounds that are almost side by side in that small space. You won't be able to get them out until you relive the tension that are on those rounds from the magazine. If you see 2 rounds jammed in there, automatically drop that magazine, which will give you room to play to pull the slide to the rear. It may take you a couple times to pull it and let it go in order to clear the jam. Now, one round flew out. I don't see the other round, but I know there were 2 in there. With the weapon in a point in a safe direction, grab it, lock it to the rear, turn it over, point it down range. Okay, physically, yeah there's a round, or physically, no there isn't a round. It fell out the bottom of the magazine well, which once I do a visual and physical check of that weapon and make sure it's clear, make sure that barrel there's nothing lodged in there. That's my performance of a clearing technique for a malfunction."
