"I'm going to drop the magazine to take any ammunition that may be in here out. That thread is gone because there's not any more rounds in there besides the one that should be in the chamber. Now, I want to take the one out of the chamber. At this point here, all I'm going to do is come up and flip that down. That's going to decock my firearm without sending my round down range. It won't fire because that's the mechanism of the way it's designed. A block so to speak. A block comes up and it disengages the fire pin from the hammer so it will not engage the firing pin, which in term will make the round fire. Now that that weapon is pretty much safe, I still have a round in there that I want out. In a clear and safe direction all I’m going to do is again, I'll hold a weapon straight up and I'll come over like this or you can go like this, whatever you're comfortable with. Me, I like to get a grip on it here, and all I'm going to do is very sternly pull the weapon to the rear. Once I do that, that round if it's in there is going to be ejected. I'm going to pull it to the rear, the round is ejected. Once that round is ejected, then I'm going to lock my slide to the rear, make sure my mag is out, and I'm going to do a physical check. Stick my finger. Can I get in the barrel? Yes, I can. That tells me there's no obstruction. I'm going to go down in here and check. Everything is clear. Now, I just load it and unload at my firearm in a safe manner. No one was in danger. I didn't point a loaded weapon at anyone. These are considerations, depending upon where you are. If you're in a firing range, if you're in your home. You always want try to get to the safest place possible to load and unload a firearm."
