"So now we have the drawstring in, and you can see the shape of this bag is looking very much like the one that we're copying here. All we need to do now is sew the handle on, and put some of those draw string stops on there. But right now we just need to go ahead and figure out where we want to put the straps, this handle, on. What I did, just while we're working, I went ahead and tied some loose knots on here. We're going to take those off and put better ones on a little bit later, but for now we'll leave it there. What I want you to do is open it all the way up. As far as you can get. The knots will just be right there hanging out, and you just want to find the middle part. Right here. I think a good way to do that is put knot to knot. You do that, and look at it. About right there, and luckily my fabric has got straps on it, so I can see yea right here where the stripes are, you know they're straight right here, they're not sideways. I can tell that that's the middle point. So I'm going to make a mark right here. I better mark it on the dark side so I can actually see it. Put these back over here, and I'm going to go over here and find my other middle part. And you can pretty much just tell that's the middle part. If you have fabric that doesn't have any markings on it, you don't have to be exact. In fact, on this one, I think it was a little off, but when you close this you just really can't tell. It's one of those type of bags, one of my favorites to make. So now that we have it marked where we want the strap to be, I'm going to go ahead and pin it on before I actually sew it, so I can show you how to sew it on first. So here's my marks, and if you'll come look at this bag. Let me open this back up again. Look at the way that it's sewn on. It's actually sewn around the casing, and so what I want to do, the first thing, want to find my mark. Where's my chalk mark at? There it is right there, so I want to go down here and mark right here too. Flip it over and just make a mark right there. I'm going to get my handle, and put the raw edge just right here. If you have a really, super fray type of fabric, you might want to go ahead and turn it under. Make something like this, but you really just don't need to, because it's tucked away anyways. That's only if it's really coming apart, and hopefully you didn't choose fabric like that. Anyways I want to pin this right against the lower seam of the casing that we made. Just pin it right on there, and when we sew it, we're going to sew right on top of that. Pull it out and make sure that it's not twisted up or anything. We're going to bring it over to the other side, here's my mark, and just look over here and see. Yep that's right in the middle. Like I said you don't have to be super exact. There's some things you have to be super exact on, but it's not this. Let me go and sew that. In a minute I'm going to show you how to sew this and then finish sewing the top of it right here, and then the handle will be attached. I'll show you that in the next step."
