Cutting Fabric for Jewelry Bag Drawstrings

"Okay, on the little jewelry bag that I'm going to make, I've decided that I want the handle and the drawstring to be out of this blue bubbly fabric. So what I'm going to do, I'm going to concentrate on doing the drawstring first. I need sixty inches long, and it's turned over to where it's only a quarter of an inch wide. But I turned it over once, then I turned it over again so I need two inches, and I'll just--when--after I cut this out I'll show you how we'll flip it over and make it only a half an inch wide. But for now, I need sixty inches at two inches wide, so let's go ahead and mark this. That's two inches, and I'm just going to leave this fabric folded like this and I'm just going to cut it one time, but of course I'll make sure that it's even before I try to cut it. This fabric is so slinky. Here we go. Okay. I just want to make sure that it meets up side to side. Just like this. And if this fabric is giving you too much problems, you can just open it up and cut it all by itself. Okay. I'm just going to cut it right along my chalk mark. I'm going to make sure--yep, it's the same folded. I think this is going to be a really good contrast to that striped purple fabric that I plan on using for the body. Here we go. Let me show you a little example how that's going to look. What we're going to do is fold it once a quarter of--a half an inch, fold it again a half an inch, and fold these guys again, and there we have half an inch."
