Button Placement for Sewing A Messenger Bag

"Okay so this is just about the last step that we have. Is putting on the button. But before we put on the button I'm going to talk about where you're going to put the button on. Of course we want it to be in the middle of the purse also. So the first thing I'm going to do is just put straps to straps. The corners to corners. And just bring it on over. And we know right here is the middle. I'm going to make a mark with a line right there. And before I sew the button on, too, I want to make sure that I put the button loop over it. There's plenty of room to get it on. Or there's not a gap. If I put it too close over here when I put it on there's going to be a gap up here. And if I put it too far down then it's going to gather. So I want to get the button. Bring it over and just like lay it right on top to just kind of get an idea. Oh, that looks like a good spot so I think I'm going to try to put my button just about right here. So I'm going to move this away and mark it right there. I'm just going to kind of make like a little plus. And so I know now that when I get this button on I want to put it on right here. So in the next clip what we're going to do is I'm going to show you how to sew this button on and anchor it on there real nice. And kind of keep it away from the bag itself. And that's a little trick that I know how to do. And I'll show you how to do that next."
