"Okay, now we have the strap sewn to the body of the messenger bag and it looks great. Thirty-seven inches length for the strap, we have seventeen inches across at the bottom, thirteen inches tall. We have that marked. What we are going to do now is put the button catch on because I know I want a button on the front of it. And if you have a pattern on your purse, you just want to make sure that you put your button catch on the back side so that when you put the button catch over it is going to be on the front side. So, you know, if you have something on the front that you want to make sure is on the front of the purse. So I'll just make sure that this is the front, let's just do that. And I'm going to go to the back side of the purse and I want to attach this over here to make the button catch. But I need to find the center point. All I'm going to do is put these two straps together, just like this. I'm going to go over here, just like this, and I'm going to pinch it closed and mark it. So now I know that this is halfway in between in the back. Okay, so now that I have this marked, I'm going to get my piece of button catch that I chose which I think is really cute. An I'm just going to lay it right here. The two pieces where they meet are just going to meet right there where the chalk is. Just lay it here. I'm not too worried about how long it is, because when the button catch comes over, I can adjust the button to however long this is. So I'm just going to hold it tight. And just like the straps of the messenger bag, I'm going to sew a lot right here because I don't want this coming apart and it does kind of fray. So let's sew that. I'm just going to sew all the way over here to the side. There we go. I'm not worried about that too much; I'll just trim that off. I'm going to trim my threads off, let me just cut some of that off right there. I caught it a little bit right there, but that's no big deal, because all of that's just going to anchor it on and it's not going to come un-frayed and that's good. So now that we have the button catch on, what we need to do now is start working on closing the lip around this messenger bag. So let's get started on attaching that piece of fabric that we had cut off earlier. We'll do that in the next clip."
